Ambulance Billing

We strive to provide the highest level of care to our community. We are able to bring this level of care to you a direct result of our billing practices. Because of this, we are able to staff Paramedics and EMT’s 24/7.

Paramedics/ EMTs are healthcare professional who provides emergency treatment, including advanced life support, to patients in emergency situations. Paramedics / EMTs assess the urgent medical needs of patients and stabilize their conditions until doctors can administer more specific and extensive treatment.

We take great care and pride in the service we are able to provide our community. Village of Trumansburg EMS uses a contracted billing company called MedEx. For more information on billing or MedEx, please CLICK HERE.

Trumansburg Ambulance was established in the early 1970s.  Ambulance services were provided by a local funeral home. Once they gave up operating the Trumansburg Fire Department and Trumansburg Fire Company combined to meet the need. An emergency van was converted by the volunteers into the first Village Ambulance.

Trumansburg Fire Company started to enrolled members in first aid and EMT classes. The ambulance service was supported by our community and by fundraisers for many years. After many years of dedicated service from the volunteers, EMS had outgrown the Fire Company. The ambulance then separated from the Fire Company and became what it’s known as today, Trumansburg EMS. This is an entity of the Village.

Today the EMS department operates under the authority of the Village of Trumansburg Board. The ambulance service continues to grow each year. With the growing scope of practice of EMS, they continue to offer more to our community members within their homes. Emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics are projected to grow 7 percent from 2018 to 2028, faster than the average for all occupations. Each year Trumansburg EMS continues to see a steady increase in calls.

“Life is the most important thing on earth. It is more precious than the most expensive jewelry in the world. That is why it is very important to take care of our health in order to live longer. People want to live longer in order to experience the beauty of life more.  Thus, we take good care of our health in order to get rid of all the sickness that might hinder us to live longer.

However, no matter how much we take care of ourselves, accidents are always lurking in the shadows. In other words, accidents are inevitable. We do not know when it will come into our lives. Fortunately, there are dedicated people who are ready to offer their help to those people who are involved in accidents.

Paramedics / EMTs are literally life-savers in life-threatening situations. They are usually the first to provide emergency care to those in need. Their primary duty is to save the life of the victim. They are always available every time they are called for medical assistance and accidents. They should have fast-response and quick-thinking skills, so that the sick and injured patients may survive long enough to make it to the hospital or to a medical facility.

They are very important because they are the first medical responder to an emergency situation. In fact, they are well-trained to handle a situation that can be traumatic. Their responsibility also is to transport the patient to the hospital in a safe and efficient manner. Paramedics are also important because they notify hospitals of a patient’s medical condition.  They are highly-trained individuals that are qualified to be dispatched by the emergency call centers when a certain accident occurs.”
