Red Line Disposal, the new garbage hauling contractor for the Village, has released the attached letter regarding the transition to their service which begins June 1, 2024.
A few items of note:
- Red Line will notify the Village in the event of a weather delay, and the Village will relay that information on the Village website.
- Trash tag pricing, as well as weight per tag and bagging requirements, are set by Tompkins County, not the Village.
- The Village will have garbage tags available for purchase at the Village Office beginning Monday, JULY 1, 2024. Tags will be sold at cost ($6.50 per sheet of 5).
- Please note that some other locations may choose to charge a markup for garbage tags. This is outside the control of the Village as well as Redline Disposal.
- Recycling is managed by Tompkins County, who continues to contract with Casella. Recycling information can be found at www.recycletompkins.org
