Pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Order 203, the Village will be conducting a series of meetings this fall to discuss policing within the community. The first of these meetings will be small group, “roundtable” style discussions, which will include a component of education as to current Village Police Department practices, as well as open Q&A and the opportunity for members of the public to provide feedback on what they believe community policing should look like in the 21st century. A larger community forum style meeting will also be held later in the fall or over the winter.
The dates of these meetings are TBD, and will depend on the level of interest. If you are interested in attending/participating, please email your name, address, and contact information to PublicComment@trumansburg-ny.gov. This is your opportunity to have input on the nature and structure of this essential Village department. Village residents will be given first preference for meeting participation.
